Re: Rear axle seals leaks. -Dealer response report
Just had mine replaced w/ 29K on my 05. The dealer said that it was because Nissan puts the seals in w/out lubricant - seal gets hot and leaks.. (This sounds very unlikely). I also mentioned the relief valve mod but he didn't take the bait.
Funny thing... He first told me this is only TItan he's seen with this problem so I mentioned Titantalk. He got a very funny look on his face and then starting to say the Frontiers, Murado's et.. have had this problem for sure... blah blah blah.. Then when I picked the truck up I said I would post his "reason for failure" on Titan talk.. THAT's when he really started to dance.. (said things like... well we've only seen this once with the seal not being lubed at initial install.. but of course he told me about it before they inspected mine.. so the math is bad at the very least... Also they didn't clean the inside of the wheels, back side of brake cover etc... I decided to clean them up myself and speak with service manager tomorrow about the lack of clean up. I want to be sure they don't do this to someone else.
