Carolina skiffs are great boats, many of my freinds have them and have taken them well past the barrier islands in Louisiana. They won't sink, so as long as you don't flip it it will get you back in. It might not be the best ride, but they will make it back. One of my friends has the 24 foot, with a 250 on the back and that thing flies.
