If they put a diesel in a 1/2 ton, it would have to provide some really impressive fuel mileage in order to make it worth while in my opinion.

We will probably see a 15-20% increase in fuel economy based on current diesel options. Fuel economy, engine longitivity plus increase towing capacity will be the big selling points.
