Actually, Nissan is saying they are fine with losing those customers. By discontinuing the Titan, they are ok with losing the full size truck market business.
They are betting the full-size truck will continue to decline and become an even tougher area to compete in. I think it is tough for the Titan to compete with the new Tundra for those looking to buy a 'foreign' truck.
Given their small market share in a (in their mind...and probably mine to) shrinking market, they feel their projected future sales won't turn a profit. The money, in their mind, is in fuel efficient vehicles.
As a shareholder, I would be pleased with the decision. As a titan owner...not so much.
