Forth, I'm going to buy an Aftermarket XM radio unit and plug it into the AUX and test my own theory, and if it does what you say, I'll be calling too.

I have had the SSV turned off from day one, and I'm having the same reception problems. I have had many car stereos over the years from OEM to aftermarket Blaupunkt and Pioneers, and I've never experienced a radio with poorer reception than this. I live about 10 miles out of Pittsburgh, and the city stations barley are received. I drive in to the city everyday with the radio fading in and out the entire time! This does not seem to be anything normal or fixable without the replacement of the unit itself. The dealer checked all the antenna connections already, and i have a call in to Nissan.
