By increasing the range, I would have the option of hunting for gas stations that are less expensive as opposed to automatically required to buy gas when I'm low. For example, the trip from Raleigh to Grand Rapids makes me stop in West Virginia where gas is expensive and then in Michigan while if I were to stop elsewhere along the trip, I would save a few bucks. I do that twice a year.
Likewise, a day trip to Myrtle Beach, SC wouldn't require a stop at all.
I also take a trip to Florida. Gas in Georgia was the least expensive along the route.
Stowing gas tanks in a bed invites them to get stolen.
SO other than because I think it's cool to mod my Titan, in this case, there are some other benefits I would enjoy.
