I grew uo on AR's and something I never knew until my little jarhead brother showed me: You can drop the lower guard on the trigger by pushing the spring loaded forward detent.....allowing the user to fire with mittens on in cold weather environs. I was too busy sniping snapping turtles to notice that part.

That scope probably gets the job done for average use... its better than nothing.
As for the trigger guard-- use a .223/5.56mm bullet to push the button. The gun is designed for this-- like opening the trap door on an A2 buttstock, adjusting the front site post, pushing the take-down pins, opening the trigger guard, etc.
