Wind Deflector Experience?

Who has experience with the wind/rain deflectors that mount over the side windows? I like the idea of the in-channel units (like weatherflectors), but I have been told these increase wind noise.

How about the "tape on" styles, these look harder to clean and a greater potential to work loose.

For the front "bug deflectors" I hear stories of people not being able to rinse their windows at highway speed because of the wind deflection. Any truth to that?

Thanks
