You would still be better off with a switch for power, imagine, everytime you pull forward your camera will turn off, then back on for the backup again, seems like needless wear and tear on the camera and electronics thinking things will be easier. Would rather take the right way than the easy way.
I say switch it with a power switch not just tie it in to the backup lights.
