I have a question... just seems funny and the question pops in my head asking why?

But anyways why does it have you losen the nuts connecting your Cat converters to your exhaust manifold?, i mean im not taking the cats off im bolting the exhaust system to them, so i guess why? if theres a concern reason please school me, but i would rather not touch them I know the seal is good at that end...
