You hear the Engine RPM's increase, but don't get the normal Vehicle Speed increase. Can be a slight or very dramatic sound. It may make you think you slipped it into neutral by mistake, but you know you didn't. Needs to go to dealer or Trans shop ASAP to avoid damage. Check fluid level and color immediately.

That happened to me today when I went to the river. The 4LO would engage then it would disengage and the RPMS would go way up like I was in nuetral and then it would engage again and the 4LO light was flashing. Is transfer case slippage possible? |
