The website actually reads like they are the same. I will say that I just got rid of a 2007 GMC Sierra 5.3 before I got my Titan. My Titan will tow circles around that GMC. I have a 19ft. Triton bass boat attached to my truck 90% of the time and I hardly know it is back there. But if I decide to buy a battleship, I would like to have the extra towing capacity.

As for the rear suspensions, they're different for reasons stated in the post I linked. But if you were planning on upgrading your boat, saving a couple hundred bucks by not opting for the factory tow package wasn't a good idea. However, I don't see anything in the tow equipped truck that would justify a full 2000 LB more towing ability. You'll probably be just fine.
