So I got off work toight and came home to finish my SAW and fender flare install. I figured I'd share a couple pointers for those looking to install these which may or may not help...
I started with the passenger side and did not have a breaker bar... after breaking a couple socket extensions and a socket wrench I went and bought one which made getting the bottom coilover bolt out much easier. I unbolted the the swaybar and removed it and will probably keep it off...Thanks to TT member Schute for helping the other night even though he was sick!!...
I was able to remove the passenger side coilover without undoing or loosening anything but the swaybar. It took a little turning and moving the spindle up and down with the jack but it came out fine. When I installed the SAW I realized the bottom bolt was not lining up right... after trying for a while to manipulate it I went to bed tired and frustrated... Looking at it when I got home today I noticed the UCA was slightly resting on the coilbucket which wasn't allowing enough droop to get the lower bolt in. I took a grinder and grinded the coil bucket back and problem solved. Now I'll never have to worry about it making contact either. It didn't take much grinding, just had to be in the right spot. The drivers side SAW was actually easier and faster for me. I decided to undo the three 14mm nuts holding the pc spacer to the oem coilover before unbolting the bottom of the coilover. This made removal a snap as they came apart and I recommend it to anyone doing this as well if you don't want to have to adjust or undo anything else. Anyway the second one was easy and now I'm excited to take it out tomorrow for a test run. I need to make sure I can still fit out of the garage now! I put the preload at .5" but the front is setting slightly higher than before...may just need to settle. Anyway if anyone does this install and gets questions feel free to ask... I will post a couple pics although they will be similar to previous posters
