37L1 -- yes, better a clean miss, that a bad hit. It's a terrible, sick feeling when you do wound one and he gets away. If he was walking when you shot, you could have made some clucking noises with your mouth. That would've probably caused him to stop long enough for a shot. But yeah, the great thing about being out in the woods, you learn something everytime you go. Good luck next time.

NH -- It's a great thing taking kids hunting. My 2nd cousin went w/ me last year. He wasn't in a position for a shot, but got to watch me take a nice gobbler.

I went this morning before work. Heard one gobbling, but was too far off for a hunt before having to get to work. On my way out of the woods, I checked a field that I hunt often... it held a hen and 2 jakes.
