Originally I had them wired to the KC switch only. I found myself using them in the same situations that I ran my high beams (obviously on road). Problem was when oncoming traffic popped up it was a PITA to turn off the high beams and the KC switch mounted next to the pedal adjustment and rear sonar button.

For that reason I wired the white trigger wire to the high beam lamps. The KC switch still works though. If you don't want the KC lights to come on when you trigger the high beams you just turn the KC switch off and you only get the factory high beams.

It's a piece of cake to wire it either way. If you want the KC switch only just attach the white wire to the battery. If you want to use the high beams, attach the white wire to the high beam lamp.
