This just sounds very strange to me and I will continue to change mine out, especially since it shifted better and got rid of my intermittent cold slip after the flush.
I don't think I have a problem with the flush either provided they use the engine to pump the fluid through the machine and don't add extra pressure over and above what circulates the fluid naturally.
This is all very confusing for those wanting to change their fluid and there is lots of conflicting information out there on the web. My personal experience is that I had a non pressurized flush with Matic J and the transmission performed better afterward.

non-pressurized flush like you mention, (described in the Nissan service manual), would be fine. Nissan's beef, with their dealers, was over them using the machines.
