At least one Ninja owner will think twice about picking on a big Nissan truck.
Ok, first the details.
Sunday evening asI followed the crowd through 4 waytraffic some guy on a new Ninja 250R came zipping through traffic at a fairly quick pace. If he didnt have room to move from lane to lane he would share the center lane. The bike was nice looking and identical to the one in the picture posted. As he passed by me and kept going I growled under my breath and carried on as he turned off.
I was just about out of town when here he comes again. He finally caught up to me at the last redlight and only then did I notice by his engine sound that I may yet have a chance.
The rider lifted his visor, reveed his engine a few times and gave me a you cant touch me , eat crap grin. I knew he was on the 250 version and was going to give it my best.
Woe, was I surprised when the light turned green and the lil bugger took off. He didnt get a good launch but he was ahead of me none the less. These bikes can do 0-60 in under 6seconds with a really good rider on it, but he wasnt. At 60mph he was only a bike length ahead of me and looking back to see a Nissan grille coming on fast. By the time we were at whatI felt the 1/4 mile should be I was ahead of him by at least a half truck and gaining ground. Our speeds were over 85 when he shut it down and I did the same as there was little else to prove.
To the bikes credit I must say it was a good looking ride for a budget bike..re 250cc.
It was quick 0-60 and with a good rider would give most family cars a good run for there money. I suspect a stock WRX would be a good performance comparison 0-60. With a 1/4 mile time of 14.9 posted in the mags it was a lucky thing for me the Ninja didnt get a good launch as things likly wouldnt have ended so well for me.
Never the less He went home knowing a truck beat him, I on the other hand know not to mess with anything larger than a 250
