I live in a private development, These deer are so tame that they will approach you even if you don't have food. They are looking for food. I don't make it a habit to feed wildlife but sometimes the kids want to see them up close, not to close though they stay on the deck. My property backs up to state game land. I could actually walk out in the morning in my slippers and take one. On the game land of course. By no means are they protected in my area you just have to take them in the gameland which I am fortunate enough that people feed them on a regular basis so I just wait for them to come down the path leading to the development the death trail I call it. I know it's probably not sporty enough for some, But it fills my quota and my freezer. You think being close to a buck is cool wait till I dig out the Bear pictures, That's some sick Sh!t.
My problem is that the poor buck has antler dressing and the rest of the bucks are make fun of him You think he is a Rudolph, There is a buck running around here with a arrow sticking out of his skull. I been trying to get close to him to pull it out but he's a little skidish.
