Yes, and I think people need to be careful to distinguish better performance from break-in from better performance from aftermarket exhausts & intakes. I have stock intake & exhaust at 4,400 miles and I just got a tank at 16.7 MPG after consistently running about 15MPG previously. So I think it would have been easy for me to get an after-market exhaust at about 4,000 miles and say "WOW, almost 2 MPG better" when the improvement is actually due to break-in.
