Truckseeker....

I towed a 5800pd boat/trailer down to and back from San Diego twice now...

The first time was 11.2 and the second was 11.9 MPG.

I can tell you the truck pulled it pretty easily at 65-70 the whole way.

I do think however the Diesel will give you better MPG in the long run but if the amount you will be towing the trailer enough to offset the cost of a similar outfitted diesel?

Reason I ask is that now after my truck has thouroughly broken in and have installed a K&N drop in my regular mileage is now 17.5 my last tank and thats with both the Off-Road and Big Tow Pkgs on my 2wd running back and forth to San Diego from 70-85 with the traffic.
