Does it get in your way there and are you able to reach it if you need to manually apply the trailer brakes in an emergency to help straighten the trailer out?

I am having the same problem and haven't found a good spot to put it where it is easily accesible to allow you to hit it manually if you need it while at the same time being out of your way.
