Not sure if this is the same issue Shlep is having, but to clarify my issue and maybe Shlep can chime in when he returns...I am not on an incline, I am parking in the flat area of the parking garage, and ONLY when the truck is placed into Reverse after it has been driven only five or 200 miles. In my case it would not matter if I was on an incline, flat, decline, or hanging upside down, I am not coming from the Park position. I am stopping (as if you stopped at a stop sign, in Drive), sliding shifter up into Neutral, and then continuing into Reverse (to back into a parking space) and CLUNK, as the trans shifts into Reverse. Then when putting back into Neutral, it makes the same clunking, but about half as much. Then from N, I set my parking break, and slide up into park, no noise. The shifter does not hang up, and the noise is not from the tranny, it is comingfrom the rear, around the differential. I went to the dealer once and they said it is normal...I plan to go down to the dealer and test drive one on the lot to see if it does what mine does.
