Ghosn's responsibility is to his shareholders. By making the tough decision to discontinue the titan sooner rather than later, he is doing his job.
By building a full size truck, they were fighting for a shrinking market, shrinking at an accelerated rate with high gas prices, one that the big 3 is firmly dug into, and one Toyota decided to enter with a bang. Too hard to make a profit (just ask dodge gm and ford).
Most Auto CEO's would have lost a lot more money on the Titan before throwing in the towel...because they lacked the balls to make the tough call.
