My truck was born in November of 2003 with the spray in bedliner from Nissan.
It has been a joy to load up and go without being afraid of scratches. It's application is very even and has a flexible feel to it which minimizes sliding of objects in the bed.
Remember one thing: No manufacturer makes many changes to a full size truck design or functionality in the second year.......It is just not feasable!
The current design is going to run for AT LEAST six years.
After year 3, expect minor exterior changes(mainly grill/headlight/tail light) and some optional items become standard.
Right now Nissan is busy correcting what's wrong with the truck as it is. The R&D money is very tight due to their introduction of too many models in too little time(growing pains).
In conclusion, If you buy a 2004 you'll have negotiating power(given the state of economy/gas prices) and can be sure the 2005 is NOT going to make yours look like the LAST YEAR'S model.
Good luck,
DT
P.S. Never do the deposit thing! That's playing into the dealer's hand and puts you at a disadvantage! To get the best deal shop around and haggle on one sitting on the lot(the dealership pays Nissan interest for EVERYDAY that truck sits on their lot so that gives you the advantage------LEVERAGE IS EVERYTHING-------).
Shop towards the end of the month: 28th-31st.
