Ressurecting an old thread...

I don't have a lot of experience with car wiring (understatement of the year), but the brake controller looks straighforward enough. I haven't looked closely at the wiring pigtail that comes with the truck and don't have the controller yet (ordering it today). I'm assuming the pigtail has a connection at one end and just wires at the other, as does the controller wiring. Given that, what did you use to connect the wire ends? Wire nuts? Soldered?

EDIT: Also, is the 7-pin connection at the hitch standard as far as what connection controls which function? Is there a standard? Should the RV place (who'll install the hitch and connector from the truck to the RV) know?
