The thing is my brakes had been the same since i got the truck so it cant' be that. I guess i'll find out hopefully later today.

IMHO, the brake-pedal travel is to far before braking begins to occur, and it's not linear, i.e., initial braking should be firmer and not require pushing 1/2 way to floor to "feel" like you're stopping.
