Different computer maybe?

The Armada is rated at 305hp with 385lb-ft of torque, I believe the QX56 has different computer software that sets the timing more aggresive thus needing the premium fuel.

I personally like the fact that I can run 87 octane in my Armada and not need the 91 octane for .15 to .20 cents more a gallon . the difference in power is not worth it in my opinion.

The QX56 also weighs 400+ plus lbs more than the Armada.
