I have a bracket lift, so it might be easier than a none lifted truck...not sure. All you have to do is unbolt the upper cv joints from the carrier (12 bolts, easier to do with the front tires off the ground), then the 3 bolts holding the carrier in, and finally the drive shaft (might want to check the u-joints while you are at it, they should not have any play in them). Normal hand tools and a couple of jacks will get the job done. I used an impact to remove the CV bolts (I don't recommend an impact to put them back it, I had one of them snap off on me).
