Question Tube On Airbox?

while i was changing oil/filter the other day, i checked out my air filter to see how clean/dirty it was (btw, not bad at all). while doing this, i noticed a fitting w/ an elbow and a rubber tube (roughly 10") hanging down and not connected to anything. is it supposed to be connected to something? couldnt find a "home" for it. any thoughts? thanks.

steve

btw, this "tube" is on the back side of the airbox if you are standing at the front of the truck. between the airbox and driver. hope this helps clarify things.
