What do you mean by downfire? do you mean putting the box upside downa and shooting the sub into teh floor? i bought a metal 10" grill guard from circuit city for $10 and plan on sticking that on top.

Yes, that is what I mean. However, I really doubt you will be able to do it with that sub. You would need a sub with a 4" mounting depth or less. That way, you can get at least a 2" lift. You can take it for what its worth, but downfiring in a truck sounds the best. I have heard multiple setups where we tested downfining and up-firing in a controlled enviroment with the same variables, and the downfiring box always came out on top. However, they do require more space. You can do it with your current setup, however you would have to do a seat lift. I do not recommend these if you have children, or people that costantly sit in the rear seat. It is safe, just not something I would trust for kids do to seatbelt repositioning and such. Big Plat's is not a typical setup, but if it works for him than that is great. I know my setup is not the best, but it works for me and that is all that should matter. Good luck and hoped this helped.
