Take the column shifter off.....A 10mm nut and a few taps with a punch on the bolt and the lever comes off.........BE AWARE THERE IS A SPRING INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY, it wont shoot out but it is there... Just let the shifter hang down out of the way. The shifter is not that bad to reinstall either.....This small step make the instrument surround come off without having to twist the surround and possibly cracking it or breaking it.....


Quick note on reinstalling the needles....After you have installed the gauge set, go out to your truck and plug the power into the gauges again, wait a few second, and let them reset. After you unplug the cluster the needles will be reset to the zero position on all the gauges, just point the needle to the zero and everything should be set.... If you accidentally move the pin while installing the needle, just pull the needle off and repeat the previous step....
