The navigation part is fine for TX, it's video they have a problem with. It's the same for every state I suspect. They don't want people watching the game while going through a school zone. After the newness of the nav wears off you end up flipping it to a blank screen (or the gas/bank account graph

. There is probably a refresh rate that differentiates between legal or not. I've read elswhere though of factory nav's getting tickets in NY.
I put in a switcher to get video on the dash mostly so I can see the menus and get the rear seat video going for my daughter. I love being able to flip it on and check the news while sitting in traffic.
