This has been posted already but I'll use this opportunity to sound 1/4 smart.
Factory fill in Corvette engine,and I believe Land Rover,Mercedes Benz,and Jaguar are all synthetic.
If the manual calls for a 5-30 stick with that unless it is very cold.Use of a 40 weight will probably cause no real harm but the thicker oil will result in a minimal reduction of efficiency(probably not noticable but it will be there)
I can think of nothing negative to say about a "0" wieght oil.
In heavy duty tractors like Kenworth's an Peterbilt's if you want extended warranty on your Eaton transmissions and differentials you have to use Eaton approved synthetic gear oils.
