Wow! sounds very inflated... seen the kits for DIY at retail stores for $49 - $99. Even cheaper on Ebay. Not sure if the cheap ones will work with factory Key-Fob. My $239 complete alarm system came with remote start, but I did not have the installer enable that feature. On my last car, I rarely used it, mostly for show. Here in So Cal, its not cold enough to need a 10 minute warm up. Was nice to get the AC going though, car was nice and cold when you get in.
