If the system has the Big Tow package, it already comes with a tranny cooler.
I cannot comment on the mountain grades but the Big Tow Option comes with a lower gear ration 3.36 and changes the shift points in 1st and 2nd gears I believe-best used for starting out.
So high rpm's are normal.
