Brand spanking new truck, change the engine oil and filter and differential fluid at 1,000 miles. Put in Mobil 1 15W-50 in engine, Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube in dif(s).

Then change oil in engine at 5,000 mile intervals. You can leave the dif fluid in their for a LONG time, but if you tow heavy things a lot, I'd change the dif fluid at 15,000 mile intervals.

I'll not go into a 42 page disertation on why I'm saying these intervals. Suffice it to say I'm 48, used to work on jet engines, have two friends in the oil analysis/testing business and have owned three Porsche's and have been towing heavy rigs most of my life.
