i don'y think you will hurt it using ti lake a manual shifter but you will burn a heck of alot more fuel. nissan has the shift points set foro optimal fuel mileage and i doubt you can consistantly match their shift points. I admit though once in a while its fun to punch it and let it rev a little before shifting.
