I guess you know it will be a tough sell since the dealers have the $1500 rebate, and they are selling at no better than invoice before rebate.
I would make a best guess at what the invoice price was(ignore dealer added junk, just the manu options),subtract $1500 from that, then subtract maybe $4000 from that.Add about 1/2 the cost of the warranty back to the price, and start from there. You will get killed, but no one is going to pay you close to what they can buy a new one from a dealer for.You will have to discount it about 15% at least to get a buyer. It still will be a tough sell since I see some folks have paid ~$28000 for lightly optioned 2WD CC's lately. They will look at the best price they can get a base LE CC for,and start subtracting from there.
It will look like this-
$33000 MSRP
$29000 Invoice
$27500 after rebate-and what they could get a new one for.
$24000-Realistic used selling price.Add maybe $600 for extended warranty.
You might have paid $30000+$2000 sales tax-$32000-an $8000 hit.
Most folks take a look at what they will lose at the realistic price, say no way,and ask close to what someone could buy a new one for.It never sells, and they hang onto it.
Boy,these are some depressing numbers, but with the blowout prices-.It is a rough time to sell and 04-05's coming with some usefull changes-electric slide down window etc.,Charlie PS
I have privately sold maybe 10 cars-trucks,and 35 motorcycles.Your asking price is critical-too high,no calls-and if you drop the asking price in the ad later, folks won't notice it-they will have already written you ad off.Once you get them in the door-it is all how the vehicle looks(shiny and spotless inside and out, engine bay, wheelwells etc),and your attitude, and the PRICE!!It is worth fixing everything, and even spending $100+ for that fancy Zaino stuff.Take any add ons off and sell separately-you won't get 1 cent more for them, and they will turn some folks off-especially performance stuff.I am thinking about selling my XE KC(Side airbag pk) to get a CC,so I have looked at it closely-I paid $24600 with tax in May,lucky to get $16000 now.
