Re: Service Department Experiences
Dealer: Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa (San Diego)
Person: Dustin (I think this is correct)
Experience: Very Poor - No Stars
Brought the truck in the next day after I drove it home. I wanted them to fix some problems with the truck. There was noise coming from under the truck that sounded like a horse galloping down the street, the radio would not go past 10% volume without distorting horribly, there was no back-up assist sensor kit installed in the cab, but the bumper had the sensors. The black plastic from the wheel wells was missing screws and the truck was out of alignment.
It took two visits (1st visit they fixed the radio) and about 8-10 hours of waiting for the truck to be ready for them to fix the radio, tell me the sensors were not installed so don't expect to hear any beeps and "even though the sales guy who just sold you the car said it has sensors it doesn't so you can buy the kit for $400", put the truck back in alignment (which required rotating the tires), and put a few screws in the fender plastic. They never found the cause of the galloping horse noise. Much later when I went to put on Bilstein 5100's the mechanic at another shop found a loose rear shock mounting bolt. The whole rear shock was wobbling around back there.
I was surprised that the truck was even sold in this condition. They said that they sell so much volume that it is easy for them to miss problems with their vehicles. So much for "Nissan Certified Pre-owned". Don't buy from or get your car/truck serviced here.
