This past Tuesday I became a proud new owner of a Nissan Titan. I researched this vehicle for four months prior to buying (invoice pricing, available packages, test reviews, forums, etc.) Since my last purchase of a domestic 1/2 ton was terrible, I decided I would develop a plan before I set foot in a dealership. (1) Called my bank for pre-approval so I would know walking in what my worst case APR would be, (2) called three local dealerships that responded back to me from carsdirect.com and made appointments to look at vehicles, and (3) went to kbb.com to find out what my trade was worth. At 9AM Tuesday I was ready to buy a vehicle because I had put in the time and effort to do the things I mentioned above. After 4 hours of negotiation, I had a new Titan SE 4x4 Crew Cab with SE Poplar w/ captain chair, Big Tow, and Utility Bed packages at invoice minus $2000 rebate, had my trade-in paid off, and they matched my APR at 3.9%. I believe that if you don't like what you are quoted get up and leave. Hence the reason I mentioned step #2; go to the next dealership if you are not happy. Buying a car is a numbers game using patience!!!! My last purchase taught me everything not to do in this purchase! Just thought I would pass on my experience for others.
