When i installed the unit the first time i did not use any spacers causing the unit to set back inside of the face plate. I then used a 1/4 inch spacer (a nut) on the back side of the mounting bracket to make it flush with the face plate. I tilted the setting to number two because I am 6'8 and this is the best setting for me. The pictures are close up so you can see how if fits. Hmmm.... I found this like last night, I think he has the trim ring installed, am I not right? Just wondering because I don't want a gap on my headunit.
