I spend a good amount of time hunting in the fall and fishing in the winter. I've used three major after market tires.
BFG A/T - great all around tire for the road. They do not do well in heavy mud or snow. The lug is just not spread out enough. Not so good on ice either. They do wear well though.
BFG M/T - not an all around good tire. Great in the heavy mud and snow. Even worse on ice than the A/T, road and lake. They do need to be balanced and rotated a bit more. They have a cut out on every other lug but still are a bit loud.
Bridgestone M/T - not an all around good tire. Awesome in the heavy mud and snow. Horrid on ice, road and lake (they are a very stiff tire). Again, they require a balance and rotation more often. They have a cut out on every lug but are still pretty loud.
I currently have the stock BFG Rugged trail T/A as part of the OF package. Great on the road, ice, rain, etc. Not so good in the heavy mud. I haven't had the truck long enough to try it in the real heavy snow but I'm guessing they will be similar to the BFG A/T.
