That Dewalt sounds handy for using under a vehicle. I've been getting by
with a Craftsman drop light that has a retractable reel for the cord.
The little Surefire I have is more of a personal light. It is the cheapest one
they offer, at around 30 bucks. Streamlight makes a very good one also,
and can even be found cheaper.
I noticed that Walmart even has some 3 volts now, but I haven't tried one
to see if they are as bright as the Surefires or Streamlights. I don't know
if you've ever used one, but it is unreal how much light one of these little
things put out.
I also ordered an extra lamp assembly and a polymer belt holster for it. The
new lamp will put out 120 lumens, and kill a set of batteries in 20 minutes.
Many people are using them for self defense, since you can really blind
someone with the light.
Lon, I guess the heavy flashlights are more "socially acceptable" than big
nightsticks. Not that you would ever adjust an attitude with one.
