It sounds pretty simple to me. The guy was trespassing and the land owners were pissed off about it. The land owners approached vang and probably was really giving him a hard time. "Maybe" one of the gun owners pointed a weapon at him and he killed the guy. The other 5 "murders" are cut and dry to me. Hell he chased two of them down. He pursued the people left alive. Here is one question, if he was innocent in killing the first guy why not run and get help and let the law sort it out. The fact that he tried to kill everyone involved tells me that he may have just snapped after being caught hunting on someone’s land and receiving a tongue lashing.
