nightmare purchase

Wish I would have read the posting by the boss before I bought my truck! I started out calling a large national dealer in Clearwater, Fl. They had a 2004 king cab advertised for $17988.00 including the $2000.00 rebate. The sticker price was $24xxx.00 Before going to the dealer I called to make sure the truck was still available. I was told there were three available. When I arrived less than an hour later I was told all were gone. I know I should have left at this point but I wanted a titan. I was talked into a 2004 titan 4x4 bedliner, step rails and tow package. I was told this was a "demo truck". This was supposed to be an SE model and even stated this on the documentation. Long story short I found out it was infact an xe NOT an SE and it was Not a "demo" but rather a used truck! After driving the truck fro 10 days or so the dealer called to tell me the financing was not going through with the bank I signed with. At that time they needed me to come back in to sign the new paperwork! I told the GM I would not be signing the papers and he could keep his truck. I was tired of being lied too! He gave me a choice of either $500.00 back or a new truck. I told him I wanted the truck they had advertised in the paper for $17988.00 with this he amazingly found one. I know I should have just left and gone to another dealer. Though I just wanted to be done with the whole thing! So I agreed to the NEW 2004 xe. I figured I can have any warranty work done elsewhere! I bought what is considered a base truck. As I understand it the only this extra on the truck is the bedliner and floormats. This is what I wanted and I am very happy with the truck. I owned a 95 kingcab 4x4 and loved it.That truck had 213000 miles on it when I bought the new titan. I love the nissan line and will buy another in the future. I am not sure what kind of relationship the factory has with each individual dealer; but with all the postings on this site and the surveys they send us; I would think they would do SOMETHING to ensure this kind of transaction doe's not go un-noticed.
