The main reason I didn't consider one is because the straps go across the paint. Isn't that going to scratch the paint up pretty bad?
I had a cheap tent from Walmart and it leaked big time so I now use a Coleman tent that has many weather proof features. The tent is awesome as we had a major storm taking trees down, and the tent didn't let one drop of rain in. In fact, my friend brought a TV for his son so we were all watching cartoons during the storm.
Hows the weather proofing on these truck tents? Are they guaranteed to keep the rain out?
My tent is an 8 person tent with 3 rooms. I got it for $150. I have a Queen Size air mattress and 3 cots. I don't usually use the air mattress as it's a pain taking up so much room. I don't want to have to deflate it and re-inflate it each day. The cots also put an air barrier between the floor and the sleep area. I also have a tent heater with a fan that works pretty good in 30 degree weather. Even though the tent has great circulation, it keeps heat in. It was a good 70 degrees in the tent.
Let us know how the tent works in weather.
Have a good one.
