With the windows down, it's unbearable in my opinion. I have tried a few different tire pressures and rotated them religiously at 5,000 miles like was suggested by America's Tire/Discount Tire. Maybe it's just my vehicle or the tire size? I have a buddy who had them on his Suburban a few years back and I don't remember them being that loud which is why I decided to go with them in the first place. Who knows? But I love the Nitto's and I'm glad to hear your comfortable with the noise level since I will be getting the exact same size you have on the same rim width. I want to do the PRG Leveling Kit first and then the rims and tires. Thanks for the information.
There are a number of variables that come into play, the actual vehicle being the biggest factor. I'd say that your wife's jeep just had some strange acoustic properties. While tire noise is somewhat a subjective thing to measure, I can say for certain that the Nittos are no way near as intrusive as you described your BFGs. As Mike reiterated, I haven't even noticed mine since I first installed them.
