There are some that use their trucks as work trucks and not commuters, who as I do rack up over 500 miles a week. A 2 mile to a gallon savings is significant.
500 miles -12 miles to a gallon = 41.6 gallons
500 miles -14 miles to a gallon = 35.7 gallons
A savings of 6 gallons.
Then multiply that savings by 4 and at the end of the month you've saved 24 gallons, or 1 tankful, or $48 at $2.00 a gallon.
So you can imagine my pleasure at getting 17 mpg since I drive over 600 miles a week.
So I fully understand the Bltching about 12 mpg or less.
