Nissan Titan Forum - View Single Post - How does my mirror compass know there's "ice" out there?

I read through my manual but couldn't quite figure this out. I thought maybe there's some sort of temperature trigger, but there doesn't seem to be a pattern of when it flashed "ice". I have also noticed that it doesn't flash ice all the time.

Anyone know how this thing works?
