Please check back to this post throughout the day as I will add to it.
What exactly is this now? The TCE Caliper Kit is a caliper only package designed to fit the later Titan 13.75" rotor. It allows you to replace the twin pot slider with the functionality of the six pot.
What rotors are these again? This is the later model oe rotor (or equivalent) only. It will NOT fit the smaller 12.6 rotor in any way.
What year does it fit? It's being shown above on my own 2004 (107k) and will fit all 04-06 vehicles.
What about later models? I believe we have cross fit all the way up through the current truck. *This is where we'll be looking for some additional help. The 13.75 came into the line in 2007 and others have been supplying this rotor with a new slider 'cage' or bracket for updating the earlier truck. Deducing from that and personal cross checking of the parts (the width is the same, the offset the same etc) we are making a certain assumption that this same package will roll right on through the latest years.
What's the register ring thing about? A difference (only one found really) between the older rotor and newer one is the size of the center bore or hole. The newer rotor is larger and will not be hub centric. Leaving them to center on the stud holes is discouraged. I do not know of any castings that have the smaller hole abut the larger diameter. TCE will be offering optional centering rings also.
Why aren't they included? Because some folks with later vehicles would not require them.
Can I get the rotors drilled? Or dimpled? Or do you just do slotted? Let me reiterate; the kit does not come with rotors. You must supply your own 13.75" ebay or otherwise sourced rotors.
What's that about spindle clearance and grinding....? Due to the length of the ARP stud for the caliper mount it breaks out just into the pocket area of the bracket and contacts the iron. Had this rotor been a full 14.25"...well that would not be the case as the stud would not be so deep into the bracket! But it is and we have to deal with it. Far easier for you with a Makita than the need to try and assemble it and re mill it here post production. Took about 2min and won't compromise the integrity.

Does this fit the 4WD model? From what I see the answer is yes. The same rotor and same calipers are use stock.
What about ABS? Fully functional, un effected.
Can I have another color other than black or red? Yes and no. Right now they are standard from Wilwood in these finishes. They offer other colors but time will be a serious issue.
Can't I just have them painted or PC'd myselft? While I can't stop you...I'd highly discourage it. Taking them apart and having them fully stripped before paint or PC is more of a risk than a reward.
How hard is this to install? I mean really. If you can service the stock brakes you can do this. Bolt up is simple other than the clearance mentioned above. You will need a flare wrench for the ss hoses. And fluid.
Oh, so how much are the hoses? They're included.
Should I use DOT5.1 race fluid in these then? Absolutely not. Unless you can afford it. There's no need for more than conventional DOT3 or DOT4 fluid. If you're not boiling the fluid you use now you don't need higher boiling point fluid...Brake fluid does not improve braking.
So the six piston will be three times as good as what we have right? Not exactly. The multiple piston caliper applies pressure from both sides and more even pressure on the pad itself. The slight reduction in piston area will firm up the pedal response and feel. It will also help the overall bias of the truck a bit by countering some of the added nose dive one might experience with the 2 pot set up on this rotor.
Will it shorten my stopping by 20ft? I doubt you'll see that. A bit perhaps but like most trucks you'll be "tire limited" unless you run some Hoosier slicks or something. The added response and feel will be time gained however and modulation is a huge increase.
So where do I get pads and how hard are they to change? Any Wilwood dealer has a variety of pads for this caliper. They maybe available from others such as Hawk too. Removal is by way of two retainer pins. You'll hardly get you hands dirty.
How do I know it will work, like the looks but man...$1500 bucks~! Nope it's not cheap. Calipers alone run about $500+ each. Add pads, hoses and the milled radial mount bracket....plus advertising costs, packaging, cc fees....yes; TCE is here as a business but I feel the price is fair and justified.
Has it really been proven tho, come on...never heard of you. I probably don't know you either. But feel free to surf the net for the company with regard to Magnum/Charger, Lightning, WRX and others. If that's not enough keep in mind it's the same caliper found on a lot of Corvette kits now and is the factory supplied caliper of choice on all new Shelby GT500s. With many customers beating the crap out of it on the track- I'll put my name on it's success any day.
What's up with the talk of a 14" kit? In the thought process. I'm just not clear on the need for a larger kit to that spec yet. Both market and function. This rotor is pretty nice really for the needs of most folks. Adding the cost of 2pc hats and rotors will up the fee by another $700. How many people are buying $2200 front kits? But if we do decide to offer it the caliper will carry over for a retro fit- thinking ahead here for you.
So we need to run wheel spacers? Right now on my 04 wheel yes. You will need a 6mm spacer. (.25 or so actually) With the wheel spacer in place (stock wheels-Titan) you will definitely need longer studs. A quick check shows about 5mm of thread engagement with the stock wheel/nuts and that nowhere near adequate. Here's the reason for the spacer.
I ditched those long ago and run 22s so I'm golden! Well, maybe, maybe not. I'll put up wheel fit info shortly and see. It's not the diameter, it's the spoke clearance. Deep dish or wide lip wheels generally don't go well with big brakes.
But can I get them cross drilled? Let's start over...
